Job summary

Home Credit Philippines is seeking a Senior Software Tester to review, design, and build test implementations, including test strategy, development, and execution of software test plans to identify problems.

The role focuses on ensuring quality within complex systems and integrations, with hands-on testing of web, mobile, and API features, and collaboration with product, frontend, and backend teams. You will mentor junior testers and contribute to automation efforts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' proven experience in a software tester role or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Financial / Lending Domain Systems (Loan Processing, Payments, Call Center, Campaign management).
• Strong knowledge of testing techniques and approaches.
• Experience with test and defect management software (Jira, Zephyr).
• Proficiency with database technologies (Oracle, SQL).
• Strong API testing knowledge using SOAP-UI & POSTMAN.
• Experience in Web, Mobile, and API testing (manual & automation).
• Deep understanding of product at the implementation level; able to analyze logs and API responses in microservice integrations.
• Understanding of Test Automation processes and concepts.

Responsibilities

• Test case creation and hands-on testing of more complex features.
• Support testers with reviewing requirements, test plans, test procedures, test artifacts, and test reports, as needed.
• Develop and manage and lead the execution of a comprehensive test plan. Monitor team conduct test execution based on predefined stage and type of testing activities (functional test, regression test, system test, integration test, E2E, UAT, Smoke Test).
• Ensure that quality issues and defects are appropriately identified, documented, tracked and resolved in the defect tracking system.
• Recommend solutions or work around for defects when appropriate.
• Help identify and prioritize test conditions addressing product risks and features to be tested.
• Understand the product/feature in-depth from the end-user point of view and also the underlying implementation.
• Work closely with the Product Manager, Front-end, and Backend developers to understand the feature and the implementation to derive and execute feature tests and impacted feature test cases.
• Understand automation framework and add automation test cases for the new features and regression test cases.
• Work with software testers to ensure the system supports both automated and manual test needs.
• Perform root cause analysis / diagnosis of issues that occur on testing and production system.
• Use expertise and creativity for innovative product recommendation and solutions.
• Use functional and organizational knowledge to mentor, train and supervise Associate and Intermediate Software Testers.
