Job summary

Echelon Risk + Cyber is seeking a skilled SOC Analyst, Consultant to lead MDR/SOC investigations across client environments. You will handle deep-dive endpoint and cloud detections, drive containment, and mature playbooks and configurations.

You will work remotely from anywhere in Mexico, engaging with clients and partners to deliver cybersecurity services while building mature detections and automation within a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/Cybersecurity or equivalent.
• Experience as Tier 2/3 SOC analyst or equivalent.
• Experience investigating security incidents across on-prem, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Hands-on SIEM experience: log sources, correlation rules, queries (e.g., CQL, SPL, KQL).
• Experience with email security platforms (Defender for Office 365, Proofpoint, Mimecast, Abnormal).
• Ability to read/write scripts (PowerShell, Python) for automation.

Responsibilities

• Own Tier 2/3 investigations; establish scope, root cause, containment and recovery.
• Perform endpoint investigations in EDR/MDR platforms; collect artifacts and isolate hosts.
• Investigate identity and cloud detections across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, AD, AWS, Azure.
• Triage and investigate email security alerts; analyze headers, URLs and attachments.
• Review vulnerability outputs; help prioritize remediation based on risk and business context.
• Write and tune detection content across SIEM/EDR; develop playbooks and runbooks.
• Lead threat hunts using threat intel and MITRE ATT&CK; convert findings into detections.
• Document incident lifecycle and produce reports for technical and executive audiences.
