Jobgether in Spain seeks a Staff Security Operations Engineer to strengthen security across critical infrastructure and open-source ecosystems. You will design, implement, and evolve security operations practices, tools, and policies in a globally distributed environment.

The role blends threat intelligence, risk management, incident response, and security architecture, with opportunities to influence engineering teams and share expertise with the broader community.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, STEM or equivalent background.
• Strong interest and motivation in cybersecurity and security tech.
• Experience with threat modelling and risk management frameworks.
• Knowledge of security architecture and modern security tools.
• Experience consuming threat intelligence feeds to inform defense.
• Familiarity with NIST CSF and ISO 27001.

Responsibilities

• Implement and evolve security operations standards, playbooks, and practices.
• Improve security architecture and harden infrastructure and development processes.
• Select and deploy security tools and operational practices.
• Identify, investigate, contain, and support remediation of threats.
• Lead tabletop exercises and security operations activities across teams.
• Develop learning materials to strengthen organizational security capabilities.
• Monitor security KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
• Contribute to open-source threat intelligence initiatives and community sharing.
• Deliver technical thought leadership through talks, blogs, and whitepapers.
• Partner with leadership to communicate risks and drive improvements.
• Plan and deliver security initiatives within an agile engineering environment.
