Job summary

Manifold Bio is seeking an experienced Scientist for Cell Binding Assay Development to own the cell line and assay development for discovery and characterization of biotherapeutic candidates. This senior hands-on role sits at the interface of molecule discovery and therapeutic evaluation, serving as the single accountability for candidate function.

Qualifications

PhD with 3+ years (or MS with 8+ years) in biotech/pharma discovery.
Expertise in mammalian cell engineering and cell line development.
Experience with FACS and general assay development.
Strong antibody characterization concepts: affinity/avidity, epitope binning.
Ability to work independently, troubleshoot, and interpret data.
Proven cross-functional collaboration and clear communication.

Responsibilities

Design and generate stable and transient cell lines expressing target antigens to support antibody discovery.
Develop and maintain cell lines optimized for whole-cell panning and display-based selection.
Develop, optimize, and qualify cell-based binding assays (FACS, ELISA, equilibrium binding).
Adapt assays to higher-throughput formats to increase screening capacity.
Work at the cutting edge of cell engineering for binder library characterization.
