Job summary

O Castro British International School in Vigo is seeking a Designated Safeguarding Lead to oversee safeguarding and child protection across the school. The role requires you to act as the primary contact for safeguarding concerns and to work with staff, pupils and parents to ensure timely and secure actions.

The post requires the ability to develop and review safeguarding policies, coordinate with external agencies, and maintain robust records while fostering a safe, inclusive school culture.

Qualifications

• Lead and manage safeguarding and child protection to comply with KCSIE and local procedures.
• Provide advice, support and guidance to staff, pupils and parents on safeguarding concerns.
• Maintain secure records and escalate referrals to external agencies when required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development, implementation and review of safeguarding policies and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with senior leaders, pastoral staff and external services to protect pupils.
• Monitor safeguarding patterns and report to leadership and governing bodies.
• Promote a safe, inclusive school culture with vigilant safeguarding practices.
