JOB SUMMARY:
Risk Management
As Risk Officer, this role is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could impact the safety, security, and operations of the site. Leads comprehensive risk assessments and oversees the implementation of physical security measures, emergency preparedness initiatives, and compliance with risk management policies. Drives the development and execution of robust policies, procedures, training programs, response protocols, and business continuity plans to ensure a proactive and resilient risk management framework.
Security Management
As the Security Officer, this role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of physical security at the site for the protection of life and company properties through effective security systems, policies, and programs. Develops and implements comprehensive security strategies, systems, and policies that align with organizational goals and regulatory standards. Oversees the performance and effectiveness of third-party security service providers to maintain a high standard of safety and vigilance. Leads incident response, ensures regulatory compliance, and drives continuous improvement.
Emergency Preparedness and Response Management
As the ERT Chairman, this role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the site’s emergency preparedness and response program. Ensures the organization is equipped to effectively respond to emergencies through planning, training, and coordination with internal teams and external agencies. Leads the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and oversees drills, risk assessments, and compliance with safety regulations.
Occupational Safety Management
As one of the Safety Officers, this role will ensure the effective implementation of the company’s Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) programs to maintain a safe and healthy workplace. This includes proactive prevention, identification, and correction of unsafe conditions and practices. The program applies to all employees and contractors, with rigorous oversight of contractor activities to guarantee compliance with OSH regulations and the company’s safety protocols.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify potential threats to operations, safety, and security.
Conduct risk assessments and audits.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Develop and enforce site-specific security protocols and procedures.
Respond to, conduct incident investigation and reporting, and recommend corrective actions.
Oversee 3rd party site security partners including functionality and maintenance of access control, surveillance, alarm and security systems.
Develop and maintain emergency response protocols and evacuation plans.
Serve as Chairman of the Emergency Response Team (ERT), conducting, leading training initiatives and ensuring the ongoing competency and preparedness of all ERT members.
Coordinate emergency drills and liaise with law enforcement and emergency services.
Ensure compliance with safety, security, and regulatory requirements including required permits and licenses.
Serve as a member of the Crisis Management Team, evaluating and reviewing the effectiveness of the company’s internal controls within the Business Continuity Framework to ensure robust risk mitigation and alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Ensure that all contractors comply with site entry protocols, site-specific regulations, and occupational safety and health (OSH) requirements.
Prepare and present safety and security reports (local and global).
Process and facilitate completion of EHS and Security requests and tickets.
Collaborate with the direct manager to oversee and manage operations and security-related expenditures.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Experience in security management, occupational safety and health, emergency response, and risk management.
Knowledge of physical security systems, emergency planning protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Knowledge of Management System Standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001).
Strong leadership, communication, and crisis management skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and act quickly in emergencies.
Excellent computer skills withgood knowledge of MS Office applications.
Preferably a graduate of Engineering or any relevant course.
