Position Purpose

Working directly under the Technical Manager, the Senior Project Manager owns the successful delivery of both customer-facing and internal software projects from discovery through to release. This is a senior delivery role responsible for driving execution, managing project scope and risk, aligning cross-functional teams, and ensuring delivery commitments are met.

The Senior Project Manager is the primary delivery lead between global clients and the delivery team. You will work across Engineering, QA and UX to ensure teams remain aligned on priorities, dependencies, risks and delivery outcomes. You will also be expected to understand technical concepts well enough to challenge assumptions, identify delivery risks early and communicate complex technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

Experience: 5+ years’ experience delivering software or technology projects, including significant responsibility for project or delivery management. Experience may come from Technical Project Management, Software Engineering, Technical Leadership, Delivery Management, Solutions Architecture or similar technology-focused roles.
Delivery Methodology: Strong practical experience with Agile and Scrum delivery, project planning, estimation, dependency management and delivery tracking using Jira, Confluence or equivalent tools.
Technical Environment: Proven experience delivering client-facing software or technology projects involving multiple stakeholders and technical dependencies. Experience involving hardware/software integration, APIs, embedded systems or the professional AV industry is highly desirable.
AI & Automation: Familiarity with AI-assisted tools and automation for planning, documentation, reporting or delivery workflows.

Technical Capability

Technical Understanding: Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and modern engineering practices.
Technical Fluency: Able to understand technical architecture, integrations, APIs, dependencies and engineering constraints well enough to manage delivery effectively.
Engineering Partnership: Comfortable working directly with software engineers, QA engineers, UX/UI and technical leadership.
Technical Challenge: Able to assess and challenge estimates, assumptions, dependencies and delivery risks without needing to be the technical implementer.
Technical Background: Previous experience in software engineering, technical leadership, solutions architecture or another technology-focused role is highly desirable.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who combines strong project delivery discipline with genuine technical fluency. You don’t need to be a software engineer, but you should be comfortable working with engineers, understanding technical discussions, challenging delivery assumptions and identifying risks before they become problems.

You should be someone who naturally takes ownership, is comfortable having difficult conversations, can build trust with international clients and can keep technically complex projects moving even when requirements, priorities or constraints change.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning, Delivery Governance & Execution

Delivery Ownership: Own the end-to-end delivery of customer-facing software projects, driving teams toward agreed milestones, sprint goals and release commitments.
Requirements & Discovery: Work with clients, stakeholders and technical teams to understand, clarify and translate business and technical requirements into clear, achievable delivery outcomes.
Delivery Planning: Establish and maintain delivery plans, milestones, schedules, and release plans, ensuring commitments are realistic and actively managed.
Project Governance: Own project health reporting, milestone tracking, delivery reviews, risk management and escalation, ensuring emerging issues are identified and acted upon early.
Delivery Structure: Establish and maintain the project structure, backlog, Epics, Features, User Stories, Releases and versions required to provide clear visibility of scope, progress and delivery commitments.
Backlog & Scope Management: Maintain a clear and prioritised backlog aligned to agreed scope, client priorities and delivery objectives, identifying and escalating scope changes early.
Capacity & Resource Planning: Work with the Technical Manager and delivery leads to understand team capacity, identify resource constraints and ensure project commitments are achievable.
Workflow Efficiency: Coordinate closely across Engineering, UI/UX, and QA teams to remove blockers, streamline handoffs, and keep execution smooth.

Client Engagement & Relationship Management

Client Leadership: Build trusted relationships with clients and act as the primary delivery contact, ensuring expectations, priorities and agreed outcomes are understood and actively managed.
Clear Communication: Handle day-to-day operational updates for key international clients, confidently translating complex technical engineering updates into professional, transparent, and easy to digest progress reports.
Delivery Cadence: Establish predictable communication rhythms with stakeholders, providing clear visibility of project health, progress, risks, dependencies and upcoming milestones.
Scope Control & Commercial Protection: Manage active delivery against agreed external Statements of Work (SOWs), ensuring any shifting client requirements or scope drift are proactively identified, documented, and commercially communicated early to protect project timelines and delivery margins.
Issue Escalation & Resolution: Own the coordination and resolution of delivery issues, bringing together the appropriate technical and business stakeholders and escalating where decisions or intervention are required.

Risk Management & Contingency Planning

Proactive Mitigation: Anticipate project bottlenecks, resource constraints, or timeline threats well before they impact delivery.
Contingency Strategy: Work collaboratively with the Technical Manager to develop practical solutions for project risks, minimizing impact on client timelines.
Governance & Compliance: Ensure project delivery follows InspireX standards, security requirements and applicable client obligations.

Delivery Leadership & Accountability

Performance Cadence: Foster a culture of high performance and mutual accountability across geographically distributed delivery teams (including Europe, Australia, and the US).
Expectation Setting: Establish clear delivery expectations, working rhythms, quality standards and escalation paths across the project team.
Clear Reporting: Structure internal updates that keep executive leadership, P&C, and delivery managers aligned on project health.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

Release Standards: Collaborate with QA leads to enforce rigorous validation and testing processes before any client delivery or release.
Continuous Improvement: Facilitate project retrospectives and lessons learned, turning insights into practical improvements in delivery effectiveness.
Delivery Optimisation: Identify recurring delivery bottlenecks, inefficiencies and process gaps, and recommend practical improvements to enhance delivery predictability, quality and team effectiveness.
Operational Excellence: Partner with the Technical Manager to evolve InspireX’s delivery methodologies, standards, and best practices.
Delivery Enablement: Champion improvements to project management tooling, reporting, automation and AI-assisted delivery practices that enable delivery teams to focus on high-value work.
