Job summary

Ford is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, automate, and operate enterprise-grade Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms. You will collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable, secure, and highly available cloud-native solutions.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Infrastructure.
• Strong experience administering Kubernetes and OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), including cluster deployment, upgrades, lifecycle management, and automation.
• Hands-on development experience in Go, Python, or a similar programming language.

Required

• Strong experience administering Kubernetes and OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), including cluster deployment, upgrades, lifecycle management, and automation.
• Proficiency in software development with strong object-oriented programming concepts.
• Hands-on development experience in Go, Python, or a similar programming language.
• Experience with CI/CD and GitOps tools such as GitHub, Argo CD, and Tekton.
• Experience designing and integrating APIs with an API-first engineering approach.
• Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing platform solutions as an individual contributor.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation frameworks.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices architectures, and cloud-native design principles.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with one or more of the following:

• Kubernetes Operators and Custom Controllers
• Service Mesh technologies such as Istio
• Observability platforms including Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Dynatrace, or similar tools
• Storage technologies such as Ceph and OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF)
