Job summary

Core Laboratories seeks an experienced Inspector to conduct independent inspections of mineral oil products, crude oil, and related items. You will inspect containers, determine quantities, sample products, and issue certificates.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in petroleum inspection and testing, strong math and admin skills, and the ability to work across Durban and neighboring countries as Saybolt standards apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleanliness inspection of containers, shore tanks, vessels, trucks and bulk cargoes.
• Determine quantity by measurements and temperature readings.
• Sample products from containers and prepare required documentation.
• Issue correct computerized inspection reports and certificates.
• Maintain samples with proper ID, seals, and storage records.
• Communicate with terminals and coordinate inspections.
• Update multiple databases and stay current with technical changes.
• Participate in safety meetings and share knowledge with colleagues.
• Establish good relations with terminal personnel, crew, and agencies.
• Adhere to Saybolt standards and API Chapter 17.
