Job summary

BizForce is seeking an experienced Senior Medical Coder - Orthopedics to support a high-volume physician practice. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on orthopedic coding, hard coding, and AdvancedMD experience, capable of independently reviewing clinical documentation and assigning accurate codes.

This role requires meticulous attention to detail, understanding complex orthopedic procedures, reimbursement guidelines, and coding compliance to ensure timely, maximum reimbursement.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional medical coding experience.
• Significant orthopedic coding experience required.
• AdvancedMD experience required.
• Strong ability to interpret clinical documentation and code accurately.
• Attention to detail and independent work capability.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate hard coding for orthopedic professional claims.
• Review medical records and operative reports to determine codes.
• Assign CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM codes per guidelines.
• Apply modifiers, NCCI edits, bundling/unbundling, global surgery rules.
• Review documentation for accuracy and medical necessity.
• Identify coding discrepancies and compliance concerns.
• Enter and validate coding in AdvancedMD.
• Maintain coding accuracy and productivity in a high-volume environment.
• Collaborate with providers and billing teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Stay current with CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS changes.
• Assist with audits and process improvements.
