Job summary

Optum is seeking a seasoned Senior Network Engineer to lead and deliver enterprise network design, implementation, and optimization across LAN/WAN, data centers, and cloud connectivity. You will mentor engineers, coordinate complex projects, and act as a technical decision-maker in fast-paced environments.

The role requires deep expertise in routing, switching, and security with hands-on delivery across global networks.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in CS/IT/Engineering.
8+ years in Enterprise Network Engineering, Infrastructure Operations, or Network Consulting.
Proven leadership of technical teams, infra projects, and operational initiatives.
Experience with large-scale enterprise networking environments.
Proficiency with Cisco, Arista, Juniper, and related networking platforms.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for network operations, engineering initiatives, and infra projects.
Mentor and develop network engineers.
Coordinate engineering activities to meet objectives and timelines.
Review designs and change requests for engineering standards.
Serve as escalation point for complex incidents and outages.
Collaborate with stakeholders on resource planning and delivery.
Hands-on engineering role in delivery, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
Lead root cause analyses for high-priority incidents.
Support hybrid cloud connectivity and network transformation initiatives.
Drive architecture reviews and cross-functional collaboration.
