Job summary

Percepta seeks a Senior Network Engineer to own the organization’s LAN/WAN, firewall and cloud networking across on-prem and AWS environments. You will work with Security, Systems, and Identity teams to design scalable, secure networks and support US operations with Eastern timezone hours.

The role requires deep expertise in Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco Nexus and Meraki, BGP/OSPF, VPNs, and AWS networking (VPCs, Transit Gateway).

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Networking/Information Systems with 3 years of experience.
May substitute 5 years of experience for the degree.
5+ years of enterprise network engineering in a multi-site environment.
Hands-on Palo Alto NGFW administration (PCNSE or equivalent).
Proficient with Cisco Nexus NX-OS; data center fabric experience preferred.
Experience with Cisco Meraki MX/MS administration.
Strong BGP and OSPF routing knowledge; design/troubleshoot routing policies.
Experience designing/troubleshooting site-to-site VPNs (IKEv2/IPsec).
AWS cloud networking: VPC design, Transit Gateway, Security Groups, Route 53, Flow Logs.
Familiarity with AWS Control Tower, multi-account IAM governance, SCPs for resources.
Working knowledge of CloudWatch for network monitoring and alerting.
Understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, and network fundamentals.
Understanding of AD/DNS/DHCP to partner with Systems teams.
Experience with Ruckus Wireless (SmartZone or Ruckus Cloud).
AWS Advanced Networking or Solutions Architect certs.
Terraform or CloudFormation for provisioning.
CCNP or equivalent experience.
Exposure to Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, AWS VPN.
Network automation with Python/Ansible.

Responsibilities

Administer Palo Alto firewalls and GlobalProtect VPN; maintain security posture.
Design and manage site-to-site VPN tunnels; troubleshoot IPsec/IKE issues.
Design, document, and support Cisco Nexus switching; manage VLANs/VPCs.
Administer Meraki SD-WAN/switching for branch connectivity.
Own BGP/OSPF routing design; manage peering and route policies.
Maintain WAN: MPLS/SD-WAN; coordinate with carriers on provisioning.
Provide Tier III escalation for network incidents; participate in on-call.
Support data center decommissioning and cloud transit model transitions.
Design and maintain AWS VPC architectures and interconnects.
Collaborate with Systems for AD/DNS/DHCP dependencies; document topology.
