Job summary

Axos Bank is seeking a seasoned Senior MS SQL Database Security Administrator to lead security strategy, configuration, and monitoring across SQL Server environments to safeguard data confidentiality, integrity, and availability. You will work with DBAs, InfoSec, and DevOps to implement encryption, auditing, and RBAC, while aligning with FFIEC, GLBA, SOX, and PCI-DSS.

Automation via PowerShell and T-SQL will be essential to optimize security workflows.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
Extensive experience in SQL Server security administration.
Experience with SIEM integration and compliance reporting.

Responsibilities

Security management for MS SQL Server instances, including encryption, auditing, and access controls.
Monitor and respond to threats; integrate with SIEM for real-time alerts.
Harden configurations per CIS Benchmarks; remediate findings with teams.
Ensure alignment with regulatory frameworks (FFIEC, GLBA, SOX, PCI-DSS) and maintain audit documentation.
Automate security tasks using PowerShell and T-SQL; develop dashboards for leadership.
Collaborate with DBAs, InfoSec, and DevOps to embed security throughout the database lifecycle.
