Job summary

Adani Transmission is seeking a senior engineer to lead operations and maintenance with a focus on safe handling of gases and chemicals, risk assessment, and process optimization. The role requires directing audits, safety initiatives, and a culture of continuous improvement across gas systems and bulk gas operations.

The ideal candidate brings 12–15 years in large-scale manufacturing O&M, a chemical engineering background, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is essential.
• Master's degree in Engineering Management or related field would be advantageous.
• 12–15 years of experience in operations and maintenance within large-scale manufacturing.
• Proven ability to lead and develop maintenance teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee gas and chemical systems management for safety and efficiency.
• Lead audits, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
• Drive change management and adoption of new processes and technologies.
• Develop and implement training programs on safe handling of gases and chemicals.
• Foster team development and continuous improvement across O&M functions.

Job description

• Ensure that all gas and chemical operations meet safety regulations and industry standards. Conduct audits and risk assessments to identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and mitigate risks.


• Overseeing the implementation of digital tools and smart technologies to optimize manufacturing processes and enhance data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Organizational & Culture Building:

• Fostering a collaborative, agile culture that aligns with company values, driving employee engagement, and ensuring organizational growth and development.

Leadership in Change Management:

• Leading effective change management strategies to guide the organization through transitions, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes and technologies.

Bulk Gas System Management:

• Oversee the management of bulk gas systems, including their handling, storage, and distribution. Ensure adherence to safety protocols, and conduct regular inspections and maintenance to prevent leaks and maintain operational efficiency.

Specialty Chemicals Handling:

• Supervise the storage, handling, and application of specialty chemicals. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and develop safe use and disposal procedures.

Gas System Management:

• Direct the operation and maintenance of gas systems to ensure safe and efficient handling. Perform regular inspections and maintenance to prevent leaks and ensure safety compliance.

Chemical Process Oversight:

• Oversee chemical processes, including their handling, storage, and application. Develop procedures for safe use and waste management to meet environmental and safety standards.

Process Innovation:

• Lead the development of efficient, eco-friendly chemical and gas processes to boost yield and sustainability.

System Optimization:

• Enhance the efficiency and performance of gas and chemical systems through data analysis and process improvements. Collaborate on system upgrades to boost reliability and reduce costs.

Training and Development:

• Develop and deliver training programs on safe gas and chemical handling and emergency procedures. Conduct drills and ensure that personnel are well-versed in safety protocols.

Team Development:

• Foster a respectful and safe work environment. Lead effective teams, mentor team members, and promote professional growth and success.

People Development:

Qualifications

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is essential. Master's degree in Engineering Management or a related field would be advantageous. Strong academic foundation in mechanical engineering principles, maintenance management, and operations is crucial.

Work Experience (Range of years):

• Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in operations and maintenance within a large-scale manufacturing environment. Proven track record in managing maintenance teams, implementing maintenance strategies, and driving operational efficiency. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop maintenance teams.
