Job summary

Adani Transmission is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager - Operations & Maintenance (Chemistry) to lead critical water systems across pre-treatment, RO, DM and effluent treatment within a thermal power plant context.

The role requires 7+ years in boiler water chemistry and water treatment, with industrial chemistry background. You will coordinate with maintenance, implement safety and quality measures, and drive digitization initiatives while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in Thermal Power plant chemistry operations with focus on Boiler Water chemistry and water treatment systems.
  • Degree specialization in water/industrial chemistry is preferred.
  • Experience in Thermal Power Plant or similar industry is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead/Operational Support Staff for Water Systems operations.
  • Oversee pre-treatment, seawater/brackish water RO, DM, ETP and STP, ZLD, NH3 storage, N-Pit and chlorination/electro chlorination processes.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance for timely PM completion and equipment availability.
  • Implement work instructions to meet production targets and ensure quality.
  • Raise MRS to procure materials; raise PRs for services.
  • Prepare and submit Daily MIS reports; maintain chemical/consumable inventories.
  • Engage in SAP activities related to operations and ensure compliance with PTW and safety protocols.
  • Follow IMS, AWMS, DISHA and CHETNA guidelines; ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive digitization and automation efforts; propose process and system improvements.

Assistant Manager - Operations & Maintenance (Chemistry)
Responsibilities

Lead/Operational Support Staff - Water Systems

Operational Excellence:

Execute the daily operations of pre-treatment, sea water/brackish water RO plant, DM systems, ETP and STP systems, ZLD, NH3 storage, N-Pit systems and Chlorination/Electro Chlorination systems, ensuring smooth execution of day-to-day activities.

Coordinate with the Maintenance team for timely completion of planned maintenance jobs to ensure equipment availability and follow up on PM schedule.

Execute the implementation of work instructions for efficient plant operations and achieve production quantity and quality as per set targets..

Raise Material Service Requests (MRS) to procure materials from stores as needed.

Reporting and Documentation:

Prepare and submit Daily Management Information System (MIS) reports.

Maintain accurate records of chemical and consumable goods inventory.

Engage in day-to-day SAP activities related to operations.

Raise Purchase Requests (PRs) for materials and services procurement.

Business Sustainability:

Implement and follow IMS, AWMS, DISHA and CHETNA guidelines within the department.

Maintain the safety of personnel and equipment through proper training and adherence to safety protocols.

Ensure adherence to compliance with all legal and statutory requirements concerning plant operations.

Ensure all formats are in line with PTW (Permit to Work) guidelines.

Digitization and Automation:

Execute comprehensive digitization strategies to optimize operational efficiency.

Implement automation solutions to support overall organizational goals/strategy.

Implement process and system improvements, adopting newer technologies and innovative ideas.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification:

M.Sc./B.Sc./B.Tech in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering or a related field with a specialization in water chemistry or industrial chemistry preferred.

Work Experience (Range of years):

7+ years in Thermal Power plant chemistry area operations, with a focus on Boiler Water chemistry (500 MW+), coal & oil analysis and water treatment systems.

Preferred Industry:

Experience in Thermal Power Plant or similar industry.
