Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, scenarios, test cases, and test scripts for mainframe-based banking applications.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing across mainframe applications and related systems.
• Validate batch processing, data flows, financial transactions, collections, and reconciliation processes.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, perform root-cause analysis, and collaborate with developers and business teams on resolution.
• Execute backend and database validation to ensure data integrity and accurate processing across systems.
• Support SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect triage, and production validation.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, Project Managers, and business stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
• Prepare test execution reports, defect documentation, and other QA deliverables.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mainframe Tester to join Project Momentum, a strategic banking initiative focused on streamlining collection and reconciliation processes and reducing financial and processing risks as the bank’s Earned Wage Access (EWA) platform continues to scale.

This is an opportunity to work on mission-critical financial systems, ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of transactions and reconciliation processes in a complex banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts for mainframe-based banking applications.

• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing across mainframe applications and related systems.

• Validate batch processing, data flows, financial transactions, collections, and reconciliation processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Mainframe Testing, QA Testing, or Software Testing.

• Strong experience testing mainframe applications and batch processing environments.

• Hands-on experience with technologies commonly used in mainframe testing such as COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and SQL.

• Strong knowledge of SIT, UAT, functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.

• Experience with batch jobs, file processing, data validation, and backend testing.

• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, defect lifecycle, and QA methodologies.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum or hybrid delivery environments.

• Banking, financial services, payments, collections, reconciliation, or fintech experience is highly preferred.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
