Job summary

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is seeking a Senior Linux DevOps Engineer to join our capital markets data platform. You will own data capture systems and manage the production data pipeline, with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and future growth across components.

You will automate provisioning with Ansible, deploy containerized services using Docker/Podman, and work in a fast-paced environment across time zones, including US Eastern hours during training and some weekend

Qualifications

• 5 to 7+ years of Linux experience (RHEL preferred).
• 5+ years scripting with Bash and/or Python.
• Ansible for provisioning and config management.
• Linux performance tuning and server architecture know-how.
• Experience deploying containerized apps (Docker/Podman).
• Git-based version control (GitLab/GitHub).
• Basic networking and ability to read capture tools.
• AWS, S3, and Rsync familiarity.
• Strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own high-performance data capture systems and the data pipeline.
• Develop and maintain automation for provisioning and config with Ansible.
• Design, deploy, and manage containerized apps in production.
• Tune Linux servers for latency, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate across teams and adapt to shift patterns.

TheSeniorLinux DevOps Engineer willbe responsible forhigh-performancedata capture systems. We have the mission of \"Capturing, Storing and Transforming\" the world'scapitalmarketsdata. In this critical role, you'llbe an integral member of a team managing the data pipeline that flows between each of those stages.The role has a large operationalcomponentwhile also requiringsomeone to envision future growth in bothutilizationand technology selection for the components of work.

Work qualifications

• 5to7+ years of professional experience with Linux, preferablyRHEL orRHELderiveddistributions(CentOS, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux)

• 5+ yearsofexperience with scripting languagesBashand/orPython

• Significant experienceusingAnsibleto develop andmaintainplaybooks and roles to automateserver provisioning and configuration management

• ProficiencywithLinux and an understandingof Linux server architecture and operationincluding performance and latency tuning

• Experiencedesigning, deploying, and managingcontainerized applications using Docker,Podmanor other containerization technology in production environments

• Should beverycomfortable with data copying, schedulingtasksand Linux daemons

• Extensive experience withapplicationdeploymentsand OS updates, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies for potential failures

• Experience with Git-based version control systems, such as GitLab and/or GitHuband managing pipeline in these products

• Basic networking knowledge and ability to interpret Wireshark/tcpdump capture output

• Experience with AWS, S3, AWS CLI,andRsync

• English proficiency isrequired

• Must be willing to work US Eastern hours for the first 6 months duringinitialtraining

• Must be willing to work on some weekends when neededfor deployments

• Knowledge of US and International market data

• Experience working with multicast-based market data distribution
