Overview:

LivePerson is looking for a dynamic, hands-on technology counsel capable of supporting commercial contracting as well as privacy and AI Compliance. Your primary focus will be to support the Sales and Partnership teams across our LivePerson and Engage businesses to negotiate commercial agreements (master services agreements and master partnership agreements) with enterprise customers and partners. You will also provide legal advice to all other business departments as needed, especially on procurement, data privacy, employment, and general corporate governance matters. This role is ideal for a commercially minded, business-enabling legal professional with the ability to work highly independently.

Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including master services agreements, master partnership agreements and vendor agreements.
  • Assist the Sales and Partnership teams with new opportunities, RFPs and deal structuring.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to enable business growth while managing legal and operational risk.
Employment and HR Legal Support
  • Partner with the People team to advise on employment-related issues across the APAC region.
  • Provide support on employment documentation, policies, and regional employee relations.
Corporate Governance & Compliance
  • Support ongoing corporate governance and entity management across the APAC subsidiaries, working with external counsel and vendors as needed.
General Legal Affairs
  • Act as the go-to legal advisor for all legal matters within the APAC region.
  • Liaise with global legal and other colleagues to ensure consistency and alignment.
  • Manage relationships and work with external counsel and vendors where needed.
Requirements:
  • 5- 7 years’ experience working as legal counsel with SaaS, data privacy or AI or similar role in a Global Technology Company.
  • Experience with SaaS sales and commercial contracts and licensing
  • Experience with data privacy, AI compliance and data mapping
  • Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, especially within the SaaS industry.
  • Familiarity with employment law, data privacy law and/or corporate governance matters preferred.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work highly independently, manage multiple stakeholders, and handle competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of regulations and best practices impacting data governance, data management, and artificial intelligence. Relevant certifications are highly preferred and expected
  • A high level understanding of 3rd party security certifications
  • Ability to communicate, at all levels, comfortably and with confidence - both technical and non-technical subjects and sometimes acting as a liaison/translator between parties
  • Experience working through complex problems, and creating easy-to-follow solutions
  • Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects
  • Passion for creating solutions with a positive attitude to change
  • Excellent analytical skills and an informed, evidence-based approach
  • Ability to work remotely or in a team setting as needed (we are a remote first organization; but we also value time together)
  • Strong communication skills, Excellent English proficiency;
