Job summary

Salmon Group in Manila seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to lead financing, hedging, and asset-backed transactions. You will partner with Finance, Treasury, and external counsel through term sheets, closing, and covenant reporting. The ideal candidate brings 7–10+ years of post-qualification experience and fluent English.

Relocation to Manila is required. The role offers a hybrid work environment with strong growth potential in a fintech-forward banking platform across Southeast Asia.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with 7–10+ years of post-qualification experience.
• Finance and banking experience at an international law firm, or in-house at a bank or fintech.
• Track record of leading transactions independently, in a large company or on international deals.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Ready to relocate to Manila.

Responsibilities

• Join the Group legal team as its second senior lawyer, working directly with the GCLO, who stays involved in key transactions and decisions.
• Work with Finance, Treasury, and external counsel on financing transactions, from term sheet to closing.
• Build the legal process for the reporting and covenant obligations that follow debt issuance.
• Run financing transactions end to end, without day-to-day involvement from the GCLO.
• Draft and review complex financing, hedging, and asset-backed documentation in English.
• Lead the legal workstream on debt issuance, from preparation to closing.
• Monitor covenants after placement and manage compliance reporting with Finance and Treasury.
• Support hedging arrangements and asset-backed financing, from structuring to signing.
• Manage external counsel: scope, timelines, and quality of their work.

About the role:
You’ll lead Salmon Group’s financing, hedging, and asset-backed transactions from first draft to closing, and track covenants after the deals close.

What you’ll do:

Finance and banking experience at an international law firm, or in-house at a bank or fintech.

Fluent written and spoken English. The work is mostly drafting.

Ready to relocate to Manila.
