Role Overview
An exciting opportunity for a motivated candidate to join an experienced team charged with the implementation and support of Trading Systems from a Level2 Support perspective. This high-profile, business‑facing role works with the core technologies that enable TPICAP to lead the electronic trading business. The candidate will focus on day‑to‑day support and implementation of TP/ICAP trading systems, documentation, and creation of new tools, while maintaining and developing internal customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and oversee all trading application functionality and system performance.
- Act as second‑level support, troubleshooting incidents and escalated requests from the business.
- Handle installation requests from QA and Development (bug fixes, upgrades, enhancements) in accordance with established baselines, policies and procedures.
- Build and deploy trading applications with required third‑party tools in staging and production environments.
- Write scripts (Shell, Perl, PowerShell, SQL) to automate installation, monitoring and data gathering for system health checks.
- Create documentation (runbooks, remedies to known problems, troubleshooting steps) for application setup and procedures.
- Attend meetings and conference calls discussing production issues, scheduled changes, and upcoming projects.
- Manage and perform changes through the change lifecycle; submit change‑control requests, document changes in non‑production and production environments, and follow up on status until completion.
- Act as Senior Analyst within the team, serving as an internal escalation point for junior members and handling major projects.
- Serve as Deputy to the Regional Team Lead: manage ticket queues, delegate to team members, ensure accurate shift handovers, and oversee the team during the Team Lead’s absence.
- Manage the team’s shift schedule, approve requests and changes in ServiceNow, attend urgent management and regulatory requirements, and participate in required meetings.
- Follow the ITIL framework support model for Change, Incident, Request and Problem management.
Experience & Competencies
- Proficient in Windows Server operating systems.
- Power user of Unix/Linux environments.
- Experience with SQL (T‑SQL, SQL Server Management Studio).
- Working knowledge of networking tools (ssh, sftp, traceroute).
- Shell scripting proficiency (PowerShell, Bash, Perl).
- Strong grasp of change management processes and ITIL‑based support models.
- Experience with monitoring/observability tooling.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with solid documentation experience (deploying software, writing functional procedures).
- Desired automation tools: Ansible, TFS, Jenkins.
- Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS is preferred.
- Some experience with SQL language and databases is a major plus.
