• Purpose of the role This role owns the step between the camera and the customer: taking raw ecommerce and lifestyle capture and turning it into finished, colour-true, on-brand imagery, then producing and delivering the channel-specific asset packs each partner requires, on time and to specification. It is a production role with a craft standard. The successful candidate is a genuinely senior retoucher — fabric, colour and skin work of a standard that stands up next to premium lingerie and sleepwear brands — who is also disciplined about file management, naming, deadlines and communication.
• Key responsibilities 2.1 Ecommerce and lifestyle retouching
• Retouch ecommerce product photography from monthly studio shoots across all ranges — sleepwear, loungewear, bralettes, robes, silk and bedding.
• Retouch campaign and lifestyle photography, including seasonal campaigns (for example Mother's Day, Christmas, Valentine's) and stylised studio shoots.
• Deliver fabric-accurate results across silk, modal, cotton, lace and knits: correct drape, remove creasing, pins, clips and steaming marks, repair seams and hems, and clean backgrounds without flattening texture or plasticising the garment.
• Perform natural skin, hair and body retouching on model imagery to an agreed brand standard.
• Colour-match every image to the physical sample and to the approved colourway, and maintain colour consistency across a style, across a shoot, and between shoots of the same product.
• Retouch user-generated and influencer content for reuse on brand channels — background clean-ups, removing cables, props and clutter, and cropping to platform formats.
• Where a style has not been shot or was shot with an incorrect sample, use generative AI tooling to produce a usable asset where it can be done credibly, and escalates immediately where it cannot. AI is never used to invent or alter product detail that a customer would rely on.

2.2 Channel and marketplace asset production

• Produce finished asset packs to each partner's published specification — crop ratio, pixel dimensions, background, file type, compression, colour profile and file naming.
• Deliver against the Marketplace Calendar due dates for Nordstrom, Saks, Dillard's, Victoria's Secret, David Jones, The Iconic and Amazon, and against the ecommerce upload dates for the AU, US and NZ sites.
• Web-size and export all imagery for site upload, including hero, carousel, swatch and mobile crops.
• Turn campaign imagery into the derivative formats the team needs — EDM, social, banner and paid media crops — from a single approved master.
• Action partner rejections and push-backs quickly, correcting to spec and resubmitting the same or next business day.

2.3 Wholesale and partner imagery

• Build the monthly imagery drop for wholesale and boutique accounts: pull the styles nominated by the Wholesale team, retouch and size them, and package them into a clearly structured shared folder for distribution.
• Respond to ad-hoc imagery requests from department store and marketplace partners within agreed turnaround, working through the nominated contact rather than direct to the account.
• Check every pack against the requested style list before release, and confirm completeness in writing.

2.4 Asset library, delivery and version control

• Maintain the shared image library in Google Drive: one source of truth, filed by month, season, channel and style code, with a consistent naming convention (style code, style name, colourway).
• Archive raw capture, working files and approved masters so any asset can be re-cut later without going back to the photographer.
• Issue delivery links with a written summary of what is included, and keep a live status view of what is in progress, what is delivered and what is blocked.
• Keep superseded assets clearly retired so the team cannot pick up an out-of-date image.

2.5 Planning, cadence and reporting

• Work to the Shoot Production Book and the Critical Time Path: know the shoot dates, the retouch windows and the asset due dates for the next twelve weeks.
• Attend the weekly Marketing and Marketplace CTP meeting, and flag any at-risk deadline in that meeting or earlier — never after the due date.
• Submit a weekly work report every Friday covering images completed by category and channel, hours applied, work in progress, and anything blocked or awaiting approval.
• Maintain and improve the retouching guidelines and channel spec sheets so the standard survives any one person.
• Skills and experience

Essential

• Five or more years of professional retouching experience, with a substantial portion in fashion, apparel, lingerie or sleepwear.
• Expert Adobe Photoshop: frequency separation, dodge and burn, advanced masking and selections, liquify, content‑aware and generative fill, smart objects, actions and batch processing.
• Strong Adobe Lightroom and/or Capture One for raw processing, batch colour and export presets.
• Demonstrable colour management discipline — calibrated monitor, correct working profiles, and the judgement to match a screen image to a physical garment.
• Proven ghost mannequin / invisible mannequin and flat‑lay compositing.
• Experience producing assets to third‑party marketplace or department store specifications.
• Highly organised file and folder management, with a track record of running a shared asset library.
• Fluent written and spoken English, and the confidence to raise a problem early with a team in another time zone.
• Reliable home working setup: calibrated colour‑accurate monitor, stable high‑speed internet, quiet workspace.

Desirable

• Current, practical command of generative AI imaging tools and a clear point of view on where their output is and is not acceptable for commercial product imagery.
• Basic video and motion cropping for social formats.
• Familiarity with Shopify product media requirements.
• Experience working directly with photographers and art directors on shoot preparation and selects.
