About the role

dusk Australia is looking for a Digital Imaging Artist to join their remote Creative Team. This is a specialist role for someone who combines expert-level Photoshop skills with a strong interest in AI image creation to produce polished, realistic, and commercially relevant imagery. You'll work closely with a Creative Manager based in Australia, transforming product photography, references, and creative direction into high-quality imagery for digital, e-commerce, marketing, and campaign requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Retouch and edit product and lifestyle photography to a professional commercial standard
• Perform colour correction, background removal, clipping, compositing, and detailed product and surface retouching
• Maintain product accuracy, including packaging, labels, colours, proportions, and product details
• Ensure consistency in image quality and treatment across digital and print outputs
• Prepare and export images according to required specifications and formats
• Organise and manage image assets to support an efficient creative workflow
• Create original imagery using AI image-generation tools for campaigns, marketing, e-commerce, and content
• Develop and refine prompts and workflows based on creative direction and references
• Combine AI-generated imagery with Photoshop compositing and retouching to produce realistic, production-ready results
• Identify and correct common AI-generated issues involving lighting, perspective, scale, texture, anatomy, and realism

About you

• 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferable in an e-commerce or commercial image-production environment
• Strong experience working with beauty, consumer goods, retail, or similar products
• Expert-level Adobe Photoshop skills, particularly in retouching, compositing, colour correction, and image manipulation
• Experience using AI image-generation tools such as Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, DALL-E, or similar platforms
• Proficiency in Adobe Lightroom or similar tools for colour correction, image processing, and batch workflows
• Strong understanding of composition, lighting, colour, texture, perspective, and realism
• Good knowledge of print and digital image specifications, colour spaces, and export requirements
• A strong portfolio demonstrating commercial image-making and retouching skills
• A degree in Photography, Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field is preferred but not required
