Job summary

Verkada is seeking a Senior IAM Engineer to define access across our infrastructure, from Terraform to AWS, applying zero-trust principles. You’ll own joiner/mover/leaver workflows and build self-service controls for engineers and services.

You will implement policy-as-code, automate access reviews, and partner with security, infra, and product teams to make secure access the easy path. Strong scripting and Okta/Terraform skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years hands-on IAM in a cloud-native environment.
• Deep AWS IAM expertise and policy work with Terraform.
• Fluency in SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SCIM; RBAC/ABAC concepts.
• Automation skills via scripting or low-code/no-code platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage IAM infrastructure as code with Terraform and policy-as-code.
• Advance zero-trust controls for engineering access and just-in-time elevation.
• Own the access lifecycle for human and non-human identities.
• Operate access review and certification workflows with audit evidence.
• Build tools to surface over-permissioned identities and drift; drive remediation.
• Create agentic workflows on low-code orchestration to automate access requests.
• Collaborate with security, infra, and product teams to make secure access easy.
