Job summary

SYSTRA is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer specialized in HVAC for on-site work in Metro Manila. You will design and optimize air-side and hydronic systems, perform load calculations, and prepare drawings and specifications for railway and infrastructure projects.

The role requires five years of experience, strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluids, and building services, plus familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM. Equal opportunity employer; on-site work only.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with relevant design experience.
• PME or Master’s degree is an advantage for career progression.
• Proficient with engineering design tools and standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and optimize HVAC systems (air-side and hydronic) for various projects.
• Conduct heating and cooling load calculations, pipe and duct sizing, and equipment selection.
• Prepare drawings, details, and P&IDs per project requirements.
• Document design iterations and test analytics in project repository.
• Ensure compliance with PNS, NFPA, ASHRAE, local and international standards.
• Perform site surveys, facility assessments, and feasibility studies as needed.
• Review vendor submittals and test reports for quality and compliance.
• Provide construction/technical support, RFIs, submittals, and operation manuals.
• Share best practices with junior engineers and designers.
• Collaborate with internal teams for seamless mechanical integration.
