Job summary

socium - teams done differently is seeking a Senior Golang Engineer to join our technology and consulting team in Taguig, Metro Manila. You will design, develop, and scale backend services in Golang, focusing on cloud-native architectures and high availability.

You will architect event-driven flows with Apache Kafka, deploy containerized apps on Amazon EKS, and own CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions while collaborating with DevOps, QA, and product teams to deliver robust, secure solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Golang experience.
• Strong knowledge of concurrency and memory management.
• Experience with microservices architecture.
• CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions or similar.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and gRPC.
• Experience with cloud-native design principles.
• Familiarity with IaC is a plus.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in developing scalable, cloud-native applications, with a proven track record in building distributed systems using Golang, implementing event-driven architectures with Apache Kafka, and deploying containerized solutions through Amazon EKS.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain reliable, high-performance, and scalable backend services using Golang.
• Architect and implement event-driven systems using Apache Kafka.
• Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications through Amazon EKS / AWS Kubernetes.
• Create and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, QA, Product, and Architecture, to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and security in production environments.
• Take part in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture planning sessions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and help ensure system stability and uptime.

Required Skills & Experience

• Relevant years of professional software engineering experience.
• At least 3+ years of hands-on experience with Golang.
• Strong understanding of concurrency, memory management, and microservices architecture in Go.
• Proficiency in CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
• Experience developing and working with:
