Job summary

Cruise Control Group is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to lead design and delivery of scalable web applications for an Australian client; role spans frontend and backend, with mentorship duties and hands-on coding.

You will drive architectural decisions, enforce engineering standards, and collaborate with product owners to deliver robust, secure systems across the stack. Remote/hybrid setup with international teams.

Qualifications

• Advanced, production-level experience in React with Tailwind CSS and building scalable UI components.
• Strong Node.js/TypeScript background for API design and back-end work.
• Experience with Next.js, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, and cloud services (AWS or GCP).
• Proven track record leading design and delivery of features from concept to production; mentoring others.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain code across the stack with an AI-first approach.
• Lead technical design and architecture for new features with a focus on scalability.
• Own features end to end from requirements to tests, deployment, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with product, design, QA, and stakeholders to ship high-quality features.
• Lead code reviews, uphold standards, and drive CI/CD, DevOps practices, and documentation.
• Improve performance, reliability, and security of applications; diagnose complex production issues.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers to grow team capability.
