Job summary

Qualifications

• Professional certification in accounting (CA/CPA or equivalent).
• Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business, Finance or related field.
• Big 4 background preferred.
• Experience in financial/management reporting with month-end deliverables.
• Familiar with accounting standards and retail industry applications.
• ERP systems experience; intermediate to advanced Excel/Word/PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial information for Management, the Board and Executive Committees.
• Process month-end journals and verify entries against expectations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to review monthly results and drive financial performance.
• Maintain integrity of general ledger and balance sheet controls, including reconciliations.
• Contribute to budgeting to monitor costs, revenues and cash flows.
• Develop internal controls around month-end processes and reporting outputs.
• Provide technical accounting advice and document commercial implications.
• Prepare statutory reporting adjustments and financial statements per standards.
• Support the Group Financial Controller and Finance Manager.
• Liaise with external auditors for audits and group reporting.
• Assist in automation and enhancement of reporting processes.
