Job summary

Job description

As a Senior ETL/Data Developer, you will use the data to inform business and product decisions across the company. You will responsible for designing and filling advanced data storage. Engineers’ data involves ingesting, transforming, delivering, and sharing data for analysis.

• Data Integration, bringing data together from various sources into a quality source of information. You bring expertise in working with ETL and ELT software, best-practices patterns, and supporting technologies to build data warehouses in part or whole.
• Database Technologies, to serve as engines for transactional and analytical data workloads. You can articulate the pros and cons of the myriad of database technologies and find the best fit for any given use case.
• Data Modelling, to construct efficient and meaningful representations of data. You are able to design data structures that take into account access patterns, simplicity of human understanding, and maintainability of data.
• Reporting and Business Intelligence – A primary consumer of data assets in the enterprise
• Data Governance and Quality – Building integrity and trust in data
• Information Security – Confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data
• DataOps – Automation practices and tools which accelerate delivery of data assets
• Non-warehouse Data Architectures – Data lakes, NoSQL data stores, data virtualization
• Works with various data source formats including structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.

Functional Competencies

• Extensive knowledge of key financial systems and working with a range of other business intelligence tools and platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Framework modelling, reports development, and any BI development tool.
• Familiarity with reporting/dashboarding platforms such as Quick sight, Tableau, Power BI, and R.
• Excellent knowledge of Python and SQL.
• Hands-on implementation experience with Data Warehousing including design, modelling, testing, security, administration, and optimization.
• Strong interpersonal, and communication skills, and demonstrate excellent organizational, problem-solving, time management, and prioritization skills.
• Interest or exposure to big data, cloud, analytics, or visualizations

Education and Work Background

• Strong SQL Skills
• Data warehousing knowledge, especially in AWS Cloud Platform.
• Strong knowledge of AWS Cloud platform services and associated administration (AWS Data Lake, Cloud SQL Database, AWS Data Factory, AWS Key Management)
• Experience building metadata-driven data load frameworks (preferably in AWS Cloud Platform)
• CI/CD experience working with AWS DevOps and associated deployment strategies
• Holds a relevant professional and/or tertiary qualification in Computer Science or Information Systems with at least five (5) years of work experience in ETL and database integration.
