Job summary

Fontis Energy is seeking a skilled electrical/electronic technician to operate, maintain, and repair onboard electronic equipment and systems. The role emphasizes hands-on field leadership, adherence to technical directives, and ongoing documentation of equipment performance.

The position requires experience with electrical drawings and diagrams, along with proficiency in testing equipment and related software applications used in marine or offshore environments.

Qualifications

• Read and understand drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
• Able to proficiently use electrical testing maters and equipment.
• Able to operate software applications as applicable to position.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to governing documents by direct reports.
• Revise governing documents as required.
• Provide clear daily guidelines to direct reports.
• Maintain software licenses, backups and upgrades.
• Provide visible leadership by spending time in the field and monitoring daily operations.
• Maintain required logbooks per requirements.
• Provide thorough handovers at each shift change.
• Support offshore employees’ performance and competence to ensure the rigs/operating area has the right skills, knowledge and capabilities to operate under Company standards and meet objectives.
• Review, enforce and comply with directives related to electrical and control discipline.
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
• Address additional matters as deemed necessary by Company Management.

ROLE SUMMARY

This position is responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing electronic equipment and systems, organizing and supervising the electronic onboard.

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• All relevant governing documents are adhered to by direct reports.
• All relevant governing documents are revised as and when required.
• That clear daily guidelines are provided to all direct reports.
• All software licenses, back-ups and upgrades are maintained.
• Visible leadership by spending time in the field and monitoring daily operations.
• Required logbooks are maintained and updated as per requirements.
• Thorough handovers are provided at each daily change of shift.
• Supports development of offshore employees’ performance and competence to ensure the Rigs/Operating Area has the right skills, knowledge and capabilities to operate under Company standards and meet objectives.
• To review, enforce and comply but not limited to all directives that are direct related to electrical and control discipline.
• Other duties are performed as and when required and/or directed by the supervisor.
• Any other matters as deemed necessary by Company Management.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Preferably a bachelor's degree: High school Degree or any equivalent, or Electrical Engineering or Electronic Technology.
• Years of experience: previous experience as ET or SET (5-10 years).
