Job summary

SMEC in Manila is seeking a Licensed Electrical Engineer with at least five years of experience in electrical construction supervision and commissioning. You will inspect installations, review test plans and ensure compliance with PEC and IEC standards. You’ll coordinate with multiple disciplines and contribute to project handover with thorough documentation.

The role requires strong office and site-based skills, with a focus on safety and quality control on major infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Licensed Electrical Engineer (Philippines) is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical construction supervision, inspection or quality control.
• Experience in hydropower, pumped storage or large infrastructure projects preferred.
• Familiarity with PEC, IEC, IEEE and relevant standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspection of electrical installations to ensure compliance with plans and standards.
• Monitor installation of distribution, switchgear, transformers, panels and cables.
• Verify materials meet technical specs and project requirements.
• Witness testing, commissioning activities and ensure method statements are followed.
• Review ITPs, QC records, and test reports; identify non-conformities and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, instrumentation and commissioning teams.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly inspection reports and handover documents.
• Ensure compliance with PEC, IEC standards and client requirements.
