Job summary

Magna Powertrain is seeking a Durability Specialist who will drive fatigue analysis and validate powertrain components through simulations and testing. The role combines FEM/FEA techniques with physical validation to ensure reliability across operating conditions.

You will work on advanced materials modeling, maintain test specifications, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust durability solutions for automotive transmissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s in mechanical/mechatronics engineering from reputable institution.
• 8-10 years of professional experience in Durability simulations (preferably automotive transmissions).
• Advanced knowledge of HyperMesh, Ansa, OptiStruct, Abaqus, FEMFAT and NCode.
• Good knowledge of Radioss or LSDYNA scripting with MATLAB and Python.
• Deep understanding of material behaviour.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
• Problem solving approach.
• Correlation of test reports with simulation modelling of PCBs is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform Fatigue analysis with FEMFAT, NCode, Hyperlife for powertrain components.
• Deep simulation understanding of Dynamic Analysis for Vibration tests.
• Deep simulation understanding of thermo‑mechanical analysis with Abaqus.
• Perform mounting fatigue strength analysis.
• Ability to perform mechanical shock and cylinder tests explicitly.
• Develop test specifications, procedures and reports.
• Data analysis for test data and failure analysis.
