Job summary

Banana Media Network is seeking a Senior Distributed Systems Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable backend infrastructure for millions of users.

This is a true all-in-one leadership role. You will act as the entire IT department—owning everything from bare-metal hardware, networking, and OS tuning, to software architecture, data analytics, QA automation, security, and project delivery. You are the single point of accountability for the entire technology stack.

Qualifications

• Design and deploy highly available distributed backend systems and microservices.
• Own the entire technology stack and SDLC for the platform.
• Experience at massive scale with millions of concurrent users.
• Ability to lead architecture reviews and drive technical roadmaps.
• Strong focus on performance, reliability, and security.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy highly available distributed backend systems and microservices.
• Build scalable, low-latency APIs using Go, Rust, Java, or TypeScript.
• Design PostgreSQL schemas, replication strategies, and Redis caches.
• Build data pipelines with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or NATS.
• Architect hybrid infrastructure across on-prem and cloud.
• Deploy and scale containers with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Implement CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi).
• Tune Linux kernels and hardware for extreme performance.
• Manage full hardware lifecycle and network switches.
• Develop system dashboards and capacity planning tools.
• Establish quality gates within CI/CD pipelines.
