Job summary

TP ICAP is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead modernization of automation across our platforms in Manila. You will design and execute strategy, build internal tooling, and drive reliable CI/CD and observability.

You will collaborate with global teams, manage cloud and containerized deployments, and mentor engineers to improve throughput and stability. This role is based in the Philippines with hybrid collaboration options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5–10 years leading DevOps and SDLC automation in financial or technology environments.
• Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines, testing integration and observability.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization.

Responsibilities

The program is global and across all divisions and applications. There is a desire to move towards faster, safer and more automated product delivery at scale. A key part of this program is to deliver automated CI/CD pipelines, increase developer productivity, shift left many of the traditional practices and deliver more change into production more reliably.The candidate will be leading this uplift and modernization of engineering capabilities around automation of development, testing and production delivery for TP ICAPs platforms. The candidate will provide hands-on as well as thought leadership in designing this strategy as well as executing with a combination of internal and external teams over the next two years. The candidate is able to educate and influence application development teams globally to adopt new tools and practices, and also demonstrate measurable improvements in productivity, time to market and operational resiliency.The role requires a business minded, highly collaborative, team-focussed experienced DevOps engineer with exceptional communication skills to work with developers and testers in DevOps principles.Role ResponsibilitiesDesign DevOps modernization and adoption strategy incorporating current industry practices and technologiesEngineer internal tooling to implement automation in software development, testing and production deliveryReduce manual overhead involved in software releases by fully automating delivery pipelines that includes testingImprove production stability and resiliency through process improvement and adoption of better observability toolsSupport application teams in adopting a consistent set of tools, practices and technology to support an agile delivery model, including automation and incremental delivery of software in test and production environments running in the cloud and on premisesTo operate at scale, engage with vendors and service providers to bring best in class industry practices, speed up internal build as well as accelerate companywide adoption of new tools and practicesAssist and architect where appropriate solutions using containerisation and serverless technologiesDrive automation for environment management, logging and monitoringTo fulfil any additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.Experience / CompetencesBachelors or Masters degree in Computer ScienceOver 5-10 yrs experience in practising and leading DevOps practice in leading Financial or Technology companiesDemonstrated experience leading and executing transformation programs involving significant uplift of DevOps and SDLC automation capabilitiesExperience delivering measurable process and productivity improvements via DevOps investments and driving a metrics driven practice of continuous improvementIntimately familiar with modern DevOps and SRE principlesDeep and broad experience of AWS Cloud platform and services (Azue or GCP also considered)Previous experience in automating and integrating Testing into CI/CD pipelines (unit, integration, smoke testing)Previous experience working in development teams using Agile methodologies (e.g. SAFe) and practising Lean Delivery principlesKnowledge of third-party automation tools and technologies with relative pros and cons for all stages of SDLC, CI/CD pipelines and observabilityPlatforms; Windows Server, Amazon Linux, RHEL, UbuntuProficiency in at least one of the following scripting languages; Python, GO, PowerShell, Bash, GroovyProgramming language with a working knowledge in at least one of Java, C# (.NET Framework/Core), JavaScript (Node.js), Ruby, C++Developer tooling; Full stack CI/CD, GitLab, Jenkins, SonarQubeNexusKnowledge and working experience of containerising application components including writing DockerFiles and deploying to KubernetesDeep understanding of pipelines as codeObservability concepts and tooling; Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatchBand & Level – Manager, 6#LI-MID #LI-HybridNot The Perfect Fit?Concerned that you may not meet the criteria precisely?
