Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd in the Philippines seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to lead multi‑level residential, commercial, and institutional design projects. You will guide the design team, ensure compliance with project specifications, and coordinate with clients and consultants to resolve technical issues.

Ideal candidates have strong English communication, proficiency in ETABS, RAM Concept, Microstran and other design tools, and a track record of delivering accurate drawings and reliable design checks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years experience in design of multi-level projects.
• Experience with reinforced and post-tensioned concrete and steelwork.
• Familiar with international standards; Australian standards a plus.
• Ability to check documentation accurately and timely.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Design Team, organize engineers, checkers and drafters.
• Coordinate with clients and consultant teams on projects.
• Attend meetings and ensure changes are incorporated in drawings.
• Prepare/review project reports and calculations per project plan.
• Ensure document control and compliant project documentation.
• Review shop drawings and design options, provide sketches as needed.
• Mentor junior staff and drive continuous improvement.
• Perform site inspections and liaise with stakeholders.

JOB DESCRIPTION

What you'll do:

• Reports to Workshare Manager.
• Assist the Senior lead as directed and as necessary.
• If appointed as Project Manager, shall:
• Prepare Project Quality Plan;
• Organize and lead the Design Team, which may consist of Engineers, Checkers and Draftspersons;
• Coordinate with client and consultant team;
• Hold regular meetings with the Design Team to check on the work progress and any technical issues;
• Ensure incorporation of agreed changes in drawings/specifications; and keep proper records of the changes and prepare variation cost as necessary;
• Carry out design; prepare/review project reports; ensure calculations/drawings/specifications are checked in accordance with Project Quality Plan;
• Ensure that the document control system is implemented;
• Attend meetings as required
• Prepares/self-checks reports/design in accordance with the project requirements and compliance to appropriate codes.
• Checks proper works of subordinates as to accuracy and adherence to the structural design intent and assumptions.
• Provide drawings/sketches for own designs and produce sketches to incorporate in drawings by Technicians.
• Ensures that the designs are correctly interpreted and represented in drawings.
• Ensures markups are delivered to the drafting team in a timely manner
• Reviews/incorporates comments of Design Checker.
• Research design options and document findings
• Review shop drawings
• Collaborates and coordinates with team members and other disciplines
• Attend and participate in WSP meetings as required
• Perform quality design checks and drawing reviews as required
• Organize, draft and coordinate technical documents and reports
• Works towards continuous improvement of the team by utilizing standardized calculation systems
• Carries out site inspections as instructed.
• Undergoes relevant trainings as directed.
• Comply with all role specific SHEQ obligations.
• Apply legislations, standards, guidelines and project specifications.
• Other duties as directed, to help company provide outstanding service to its customers

• Has worked within an international design office and familiar with the Australian Standards is a plus
• Ability to check documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
