Job summary

R Systems seeks a highly experienced Data Architect to design, build, and govern an enterprise data architecture leveraging the Databricks Lakehouse Platform. This fully remote role rewards independence, ownership, and scalable, production-ready solutions.

You will architect end-to-end data solutions, drive governance and security, mentor engineers, and partner with BI teams for self-service analytics using Power BI and Tableau.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data architecture/engineering, with hands-on Databricks in production.
• Proven ability to design enterprise-scale, production-ready architectures.
• Strong governance, security, and privacy implementation experience.
• Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
• Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver enterprise-grade data solutions from concept to go-live.
• Own architecture decisions end-to-end: design, documentation, rollout.
• Implement Databricks medallion architecture with Delta Lake & DLT.
• Optimize clusters, workflows, and compute costs with smart policies.
• Define data platform strategy, standards, and best practices.
• Lead governance and compliance initiatives (GDPR/CCPA, encryption).
• Partner with BI teams to enable self-service analytics via Power BI/Tableau.
• Mentor engineers and act as the primary technical authority.
