Job summary

Procter & Gamble in Manila is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own end-to-end data platform development on Google Cloud and partner with engineering, operations and product leaders to unlock new business opportunities while safeguarding consumer data.

You will design, build, and optimize data pipelines, warehouses and dashboards, working across event-driven architectures and multiple data sources. Strong GC tools, SQL and Python required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data engineering, or related field; 5+ years in data engineering and cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in Google Cloud services such as Spanner, BigQuery, Cloud Composer or equivalent.
• Experience with ETL tools and frameworks like Spark, Dataflow and Cloud Composer/Airflow.
• Programming skills in Python, Java and SQL.
• Knowledge of data modeling techniques and relational database technologies.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and BI reporting tools.
• Awareness of data governance, privacy regulations, and security.

Responsibilities

• Ingest data by developing and maintaining data pipelines into Google Cloud environments.
• Transform data with cleansing, normalization, streaming validation and aggregation.
• Model data and schemas for efficient storage and retrieval in Google Cloud platforms.
• Build data warehouses or data lakes using Google Cloud services like BigQuery.
• Integrate data from multiple sources using tools like Airflow/Dataflow/Dataform.
• Apply data governance practices including security and privacy compliance.
• Optimize performance balancing scale and cost for data operations.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data-related issues with observability tools.
• Develop data structures for responsive front ends and dashboards.
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver business value.
• Document data engineering processes and configurations.
