Job summary

Ascendion is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to design, develop, and optimize enterprise-scale data platforms on Microsoft Azure, enabling advanced analytics and data-driven decision-making.

You will build scalable data pipelines and modern data warehouse solutions using Databricks, PySpark, Python, and Terraform; collaborate with cross-functional teams; and support CI/CD and Agile delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, engineering, data science, CS or related field.
• 5+ years in data engineering, platform engineering or software engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with Azure cloud, Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• IaC with Terraform; Python and/or TypeScript experience.
• Data pipelines and modern data warehouse solutions with Databricks, PySpark, Python.
• PostgreSQL and data integration from enterprise sources.
• Understanding of SDLC, agile methodologies, and cross‑functional teamwork.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data lake/warehouse architectures on Azure.
• Implement and support modern data engineering tools including Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
• Monitor and optimize platform performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define data requirements and deliver robust solutions.
• Prepare high‑level and detailed technical designs for data platforms and integrations.
• Apply best practices in software development, testing, deployment, and CI/CD automation.
• Participate in Agile delivery processes (Scrum/Kanban) and research new technologies for improvement.
• Perform related duties as required.
