Job summary

FinStrat Management is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, and AI-enabled agent workstreams for client engagements. You’ll design scalable AWS platforms and work directly with client teams to translate requirements into robust solutions.

You will own security, data quality, and multi-tenant patterns while collaborating with the Head of Engineering, CTO, and offshore teams to deliver high-impact, auditable results for intricate financial processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and operating production systems on AWS with serverless, IaC, and cloud security.
• Strong data engineering skills: Python, SQL, data pipelines, and a modern data stack (DBT, S3, BI).
• Solid CI/CD discipline; write and review production-grade code.
• Experience integrating accounting/ERP/CRM platforms via APIs.
• Comfort with LLM-based tools and AI agents in daily development.
• Hands-on with AI coding tools (Claude Code) in planning, building, reviewing.
• Experience working directly with clients or stakeholders.
• Ability to form recommendations under ambiguity and own decisions.
• Clear communication under pressure with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent English; overlap with US Eastern hours.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate AWS infrastructure (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, RDS, Cognito).
• Own IaC and CI/CD, plus multi-tenant security and auditability.
• Maintain security posture with IAM, secrets management, SOC 2 controls.
• Build data pipelines and S3-based data platform for agents and BI (DBT, QuickSight).
• Architect integrations with QuickBooks, HubSpot, Stripe, Plaid, Box, Slack.
• Lead client discovery sessions and translate findings into implementable designs.
• Develop intelligent agents and governance, with human-in-the-loop controls.
• Create documentation, playbooks, and standards across teams.
