Job summary

Leviat is seeking a Senior BIM Drafter to translate complex engineering designs into installation-ready drawings and BIM content. You will own drafting standards for the APAC team and mentor colleagues in Revit and AutoCAD workflows.

Based in Kuala Lumpur, you will build and maintain Revit models, extract schedules and quantities, and coordinate with engineers. You’ll perform clash checks, manage revisions, and drive automation to lift team throughput while ensuring first-pass acceptance.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Architectural Technology, Building Technology, or Drafting / CAD.
• Minimum 6 years of drafting experience on structural, precast, facade or building projects, including at least 3 years in a Revit-based BIM production environment.
• Demonstrated experience producing shop or installation drawings for reinforced concrete and/or precast elements.
• Expert level: Autodesk Revit (Structure), AutoCAD.
• Proven Revit family authoring: nested families, parametric formulas, shared parameters, type catalogues and IFC export mapping.
• Working level: Navisworks, BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud, IFC exchange.
• Solid understanding of structural drawings, reinforcement detailing, precast production and erection sequence, and construction tolerances.
• Strong written and spoken English; daily coordination with overseas engineers and customers.
• High attention to detail; comfortable checking others' work and giving direct, constructive feedback.
• Able to prioritise across multiple concurrent projects and desks with fixed due dates.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Revit models and product families; extract drawings, schedules and quantities directly from the model.
• Handle the most complex or highest-risk work: precast lifting layouts with COG and insert marking, tilt-up panel lifting and bracing drawings, and projects with strict documentation requirements.
• Manage revisions, mark-ups and transmittals from first issue through to release.
• Own the drafting standards for the APAC team: Revit templates, title blocks, annotation and layer conventions, and the product family library.
• Develop and maintain parametric BIM objects of Leviat products with correct geometry, level of detail, shared parameters and product data.
• Exchange and coordinate models with customer BIM managers via IFC, Navisworks and Autodesk Construction Cloud; run clash checks against structure, MEP and formwork.
• Check drawings prepared by other drafters and graduate engineers before engineer review, targeting first-pass acceptance.
• Mentor and train drafters and graduate engineers on Revit and AutoCAD workflows and Leviat drawing standards.
• Identify repetitive drafting tasks and automate them; measure and report time saved.

About the role

The Senior BIM Drafter converts engineered designs into clear, coordinated, installation-ready drawings and BIM content. The role owns drawing quality and BIM standards for the APAC drafting function, produces on the most complex projects, checks the work of other drafters, and drives template and automation improvements that lift team throughput.
