Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior BIM Design Modeler - Mechanical to lead BIM authoring for MEP and ensure best practice BIM delivery across projects. The role demands extensive Revit expertise, strong coordination across disciplines, and a track record of driving BIM standards and QA.

The candidate should have 8–10+ years of experience, excellent communication, and leadership skills, with familiarity in Australian BIM standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering or science.
• 8–10+ years in BIM design modeling.
• Expert Revit for MEP disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Fire, Hydraulics).
• Familiar with Australian and International BIM standards (ISO19650 BIM MEP Aus).
• Strong QA and model review experience.

Senior BIM Design Modeler - Mechanical

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Liaise with primary business, office, and technical leads to ensure best practice delivery to project requirements.
• Assist with the development, review, approval, and maintenance of the suite of Revit documentation guidelines including BIM standards, implementation plans and quality control procedures.
• Develop, implement, and enforce best practice BIM workflows and processes.
• Drive and deploy technical delivery innovation.
• Plan, execute and manage the ongoing implementation of BIM across all disciplines in the region including integration of design workflows.
• Stay up to date with the latest best practice within BIM project technology and the interaction of BIM software with other software used within the business.
• Provide quality control for completeness and adherence to company standards for all models and drawings produced.
• Review progress, compliance and clash detection reports produced by the project BIM coordinator and manage issue rectification.
• Implement and monitor clash detection process including the resolution of clashes and constructability issue.
• Produce periodic to the team expressing progress, lesson learned and achievements.
• Coordinate and establish projects standards with clients, design teams and stakeholders.
• Plan and execute the expansion of local BIM related services.
• Assist with the administration of BIM Project Technology Systems.

WHAT WE'LL LOVE ABOUT YOU:

• Bachelor of Science or Engineering Degree
• At least 8-10+ years of experience in a similar capacity
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Experience leading terms and running, training and familiarization sessions.
• A strong focus on quality of customers.
• Expert Revit authoring of all Building Services disciplines including Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection and Hydraulics.
• Expert experience with Revit content development and shared parameter management.
• Familiarisation with Australian and International BIM standards including ISO19650 BIM MEP Aus.
• High level experience with Navisworks, Revizto, clash detection and construction issue management.
• Use of C4R and BIM360
• Experience with Revit project model set up and management.
• Experience working with Revit project delivery for the Australian market.
• Preferred practical experience using Dynamo/Python for task automation.
• Preferred design background and knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
• Proficient in executing BIM Scope and BIM execution Plan.
