Job summary

SM Supermalls is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, develop, and maintain backend digital platforms, focusing on server-side components, databases, APIs, and microservices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable software services and ensure code quality through reviews and best practices.

The role requires strong Python skills, experience with Django/FastAPI/Flask, and familiarity with serverless architectures on AWS.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT/CS
4-5 years of relevant work experience
Strong programming skills in Python with Django, FastAPI or Flask
Proficient in GraphQL RESTful APIs and web services
Familiar with Microservices Architecture
Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases
Git version control
Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and collaborative teamwork

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Python and frameworks (Django, FastAPI, Flask) and AWS Lambda with Serverless Framework
Architect and implement RESTful APIs and microservices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions aligned with business goals
Perform code reviews and establish code quality practices
Troubleshoot and resolve production and development issues
Lead technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions
Mentor junior and mid-level developers and foster learning
Stay updated with emerging technologies to drive process improvements
