Job summary

SM Supermalls is seeking an Information Technology Officer (Software Engineer) for the Head Office in Pasay, Metro Manila. The Platform Engineer will design, develop, and maintain the company’s digital platforms, focusing on server-side components, APIs, and services.

With 4–5 years of relevant experience, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable backend solutions, mentor junior developers, and stay ahead of industry trends to improve development processes and product

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
4–5 years of relevant work experience.
Strong Python programming with Django, FastAPI or Flask.
Proficient in GraphQL, RESTful APIs and web services.
Familiar with Microservices Architecture.
Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases.
Git version control.
Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
Knowledge of software engineering best practices and Agile methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Python and frameworks.
Architect and implement RESTful APIs and microservices.
Collaborate with product, design, and other developers to align solutions with goals.
Conduct code reviews and promote code quality and maintainability.
Troubleshoot production and development issues.
Lead technical discussions and contribute to architecture decisions.
Mentor junior/mid-level developers and foster learning.
Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices.
