Job summary

SYSGEN RPO seeks a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to design, build, and improve scalable backend systems with a focus on microservices architecture, API development, and database optimization.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with Product Managers and cross-functional teams, and drive technical initiatives to deliver high-quality software with strong security and observability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with Go or Java in backend systems.
• Strong knowledge of API design, microservices, and database optimization.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop well-architected, scalable microservices and backend systems.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to refine requirements and technical solutions.
• Improve and refactor existing codebases to enhance maintainability, performance, and scalability.
• Develop and maintain reliable APIs and backend services.
• Design and optimize persistence layers and database systems.
• Implement security controls to protect services and data.
• Work with asynchronous workflows, background task processing, and event-driven systems.
• Build effective monitoring, logging, and observability into backend systems.
• Lead and participate in incident response, including troubleshooting, mitigation, resolution, and post-incident improvements.
• Evaluate new technologies and technical approaches to solve complex engineering challenges.
• Lead technical projects, manage deliverables, and ensure alignment across teams.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high standards for software quality and engineering practices.
• Support continuous improvement, training, and other technical initiatives as required.
