ZigZag is looking for a Senior AU Tax Accountant to join our team!
The working schedule is Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm or 6am to 3pm Manila time. This is a work from home role.
Key Accountabilities

Business Services
- Responsible either personally or by delegation for work required for each client, which may include:
- Financial Statements
- Tax Returns
- GST/Business Activity Statements/IAS
- Bookkeeping
- Company Secretarial
- Tax planning
- All steps in the workflow process to be completed
- Setting and monitoring client workflow budgets
- Draft emails for client communication to Manager/Partner/Group Accounting Manager where instructed or expected
- Research technical issues relevant to a client engagement
- All client contact is to go via an Australian based accountant; this role has no direct client contact
- Meet set deadlines as agreed in workflow meetings and client planning meetings

Internal Staff Training
- Delegate appropriate and challenging work to develop junior staff
- Provide coaching and mentoring support to junior Accountants and Bookkeepers

Meet Productivity Expectations
- Meet expected annual chargeable hours of 1,664 (or 80% of annual 2,080 hours)
- Raise any work shortfall in workflow meetings with the Group Accounting Manager

Meet Job Profitability Expectations
- Each engagement is to be completed in the hours allocated by Manager/Partner for job completion
- Expectation that each client engagement has a 95% or higher recovery rate
Qualifications
- At least 3-5 years of experience in AU Taxation and Accounting
- Thorough understanding of Australia taxation legislation, including GST, FBT, CGT, Division 7A
- Strong commercial acumen with sound technical accounting and analytical skills
- Ability to identify issues and communicate effectively
- Experience with MYOB, Xero
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload
- Collaborative, team player who builds strong internal relationships across the business
- Ability to meet productivity and turnaround metrics
