Operations is responsible for supporting the various trading, investment, and reporting activities of the firm. The core mission of the Operations group is to establish scalable investment workflows, ensure a controlled operating environment and deliver high-quality client service to both internal and external business relationships. In addition to supporting primary investment related activities, the groups assist in design and implementation of firm-wide projects, operational due diligence, counterparty management and client-related activities.
Trading Operations oversees the full breadth of firm wide trade settlements by leveraging scalable, straight through processes to ensure a seamless transition of a trade through its complete lifecycle from trade matching and reconciliation to allocation and delivery and finally, funding and settlement.
General Responsibilities:
- Properly communicate with onshore counterparts, custodians, brokers, and administrators to query, elevate and resolve issues pertaining to the processes and deliverables assigned.
- Expected to expand their skills and knowledge through cross-training and may be assigned to support and handle daily tasks from other teams within Middle Office space.
- Identify opportunities for process efficiencies through streamlining and automation projects by collaborating with other team members.
- All members should be aware and able to perform the standard procedure of a proper handoff, both offshore and onshore.
- Ensure timely update and completeness of process documentation.
- Able to take on additional responsibilities as the group expands.
- Any related process as required by both onshore and offshore teams.
Equities Operations Process:
- Ensure that all failed trades are addressed through proper monitoring.
- Investigate and resolve daily trade settlement issues, breaks and mismatch for Equities and Swaps.
- Manage and respond to all email inquiries related to pre-matching, failing trades, trade discrepancies (Pre and Post settlements).
- Monitor REPOs, IRS, CDS and ICE trades for any issues and breaks.
Qualifications:
- Experienced Associates (with at least 3 years of experience) with knowledge/exposure Capital Markets, Reconciliation and General Fund Accounting Principles. Alternatively, basic instrument knowledge in security types (Equities, Fixed Income and Derivatives) and the Trade Life Cycle/Settlement process.
- Basic to Intermediate knowledge in Excel and SQL, or VBA is a plus.
- Possess good communication and client service skills.
- Can work with minimal supervision and deliver high-quality output.
- With multi-tasking skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Must be proactive, motivated, detail-oriented, a team player and knows how to work with Service Level Agreements (SLA) and metrics.
- Must be willing to work on Graveyard shift (10 PM or 11 PM Philippine Time)
- Comfortable working in rapidly changing, team-based work environment
Education:
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Financial Management and other related business courses.
