Role Summary
As a Senior Planner, you will manage the business needs of assigned client accounts and drive business development for both existing and potential clients of the agency.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Puts you at the forefront of Integrated advertising (ATL + Digital) and measurement.
- Opportunity to hone integrated planning skills and knowledge across the spectrum of channels/platforms.
- Opportunity to learn how integrated campaigns are planned, implemented, and measured.
- Primary point of contact for account assignments.
- Acquires, understands/processes and cascades briefs received from clients.
- Works with strategists and specialists to ensure that the agency delivers output that meets or exceeds client expectations.
- Presents, defends or justifies, alongside strategists and specialists, the agency’s output.
- Drives and captures agreements during meetings.
- Ensures that smooth relationships are maintained with the different stakeholders of the assigned accounts.
- Ensures that deliverables for clients are met on time, in scope and within agreed costs.
- Manages projects pre, during and after campaign.
- Ensures that hours rendered by the team members are compensated for.
- Diligently monitors achievement of revenue targets and account receivables/payables.
- Performs administrative work, as required, to manage the business.
- Looks after the interests of the account.
- Has an excellent understanding of the accounts/brands being handled.
- Has a good grasp of the competitive landscape in which the accounts/brands operate.
- Studies the consumer and digital landscape relevant to the business of the assigned accounts/brands.
- Proactively shares “opportunities to win” with assigned accounts/brands.
- Looks after the agency’s interests.
- Spots opportunities for business growth.
- Protects agency intellectual property for services rendered.
- Ensures smooth relationship between the agency and client.
- Goes the “extra mile” to deliver client expectations.
Measures of Success
In Three Months
- Mastered client management skills, delivering superior service and output for accounts handled.
- Learned basic media planning, optimization and analytics skills.
- Handled projects/executions independently.
- Gained a clear grasp of the accounts handled.
- Established a good working relationship with key stakeholders (internal and client teams).
- Proposed process improvements as needed.
In Six Months
- Identified new opportunities to grow business.
- Mapped out relevant account playbooks to ensure high‑standard handling.
- Set internal KPIs for accounts managed.
- Held full accountability for revenue targets set for accounts.
In Twelve Months
- Majorly contributed to successful launch of brands handled.
- Achieved 100% of revenue targets set for accounts.
- Proposed and acquired new revenue sources to help achieve team targets.
Education
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s/College Degree, preferably in a business or research‑related course.
Work Experience
At least 3‑4 years of work experience including digital media function.
Required Competencies
- Experience in advertising, public relations/communications, marketing or a similar field.
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
- MS Office skills (Excel and PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Client servicing skills.
- Good understanding of the Philippine digital media landscape; capability to use tools such as ComScore, Similar Web, Effective Measure for audience planning.
- Strong project management skills – ability to manage multiple projects and accounts.
- Can work with minimal supervision.
- Team player with ability to work under pressure.
- Experience in performance and programmatic media planning is an advantage.
Others
- Knowledge in digital programmatic buying and coding is a plus.
