Quick Rundown:
As a Senior Architect (AutoCAD & Revit | US-Based (NY) Projects | Wood & Steel Construction), you will play a key role in producing construction documents, leading design development, and providing leadership and mentorship to other architects. You will work closely with our team to deliver exceptional results on a wide range of architectural projects. Fluency in English is required to communicate effectively with team members.
What You'll Do:
Conduct a site plan/zoning analysis.
Prepare construction documents based on the provided schematic designs.
Provide structural design options and analyze cost efficiency for each.
Conduct cost analysis for projects.
Design and draft basic structures; occasionally draft structures provided by others.
Provide basic electrical plans and plumbing riser diagrams as required.
Create 3D realistic color renderings.
Research and maintain knowledge of engineering disciplines, construction materials, and application methods.
Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, including the NY State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code.
Mentor and guide other architects on the team.
Review and oversee the work of other architects and team members, providing constructive feedback.
Conduct workshops or training sessions to support continuous team development.
Interpret client briefs accurately and translate them into actionable design solutions.
Liaise with team mates to address issues promptly and ensure project requirements are met.
Review and manage contracts and design documentation.
Provide guidance to subcontractors (builders, plumbers, electricians) to help them interpret design specifications.
Ensure team collaboration to achieve project goals and deadlines.
What Were Looking For:
A strong portfolio and several years of experience as an architect, including work on New York state projects.
Fluent in English, with excellent reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
Practical understanding of construction, with an emphasis on wood and steel construction.
Strong knowledge of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code:
Ability to reference specific code sections clearly.
Ability to identify code-compliant workarounds when needed.
Prior experience with wood construction projects.
Experience preparing basic electrical plans and plumbing riser diagrams.
Familiarity with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) coordination and design basics.
Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
Willingness to work overtime when required.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit software.
Ability to train team members in software and construction methods.
Dedicated to producing high-quality work and meeting deadlines.
Ability to clearly explain every detail of construction drawings for field implementation.
