Job summary

Kake is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join a remote-first, globally distributed tech team. You will build scalable, polished Android apps using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern architecture patterns.

Contribute to design reviews, set engineering and testing standards, and leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery. Requires 7+ years of production Android experience and strong English communication. Remote, CST overlap preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Android development in production environments.
• Experience taking products from concept to launch (0-1) and leading architecture decisions.
• Strong Kotlin skills, with asynchronous programming (Coroutines) and reactive state management (Flow).
• Deep understanding of Android architecture patterns (MVVM/MVI), Jetpack components, and DI frameworks (Hilt/Dagger).
• Pixel-perfect UI development with Jetpack Compose and Material Design guidelines.
• Proficiency in testing (JUnit, Espresso/Compose Test) and CI/CD familiarity.
• Excellent written and spoken English; ability to work remotely and autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Translate product and design requirements into technical tasks and own end-to-end delivery.
• Architect, build, and maintain native Android apps in Kotlin.
• Design robust network layers, caching, and offline-first workflows.
• Integrate third-party SDKs, hardware features, and REST/GraphQL APIs with backend teams.
• Build responsive UI with Jetpack Compose and ensure high performance.
