Job summary

Maersk is seeking a finance professional to support day-to-day accounting and financial close across its Manila-based team, with exposure to global processes.

Qualifications

• Relevant professional experience in finance or related fields.
• Strong communication skills in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, with data-management capability.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities
• Coordinate with country teams and other stakeholders for information and action as needed
• Deliver financial close requirements in a timely manner according to set deadlines
• Ensure compliance with global and local financial controls
• Complete deliverables within targeted timelines and service levels, including timely responses to inquiries
• Proactively highlight performance or process gaps and follow up with relevant stakeholders
• Leverage accounting knowledge to assist others on more complex issues
• Deliver tax and audit requirements by established deadlines
• Continuously seek, propose, and implement process improvements
• Serve as a backup resource when team members are absent
• Perform additional tasks and ad hoc activities as assigned
• Conduct monthly balance sheet reviews for in-scope entities and implement action points for deviations
• Analyze financial statements, coordinate with process owners to consolidate accounting and tax information, and provide operational reports
• Coordinate internal control attestations with relevant performers
• Undertake relevant additional tasks as deemed necessary

Qualifications

• Familiarity with JD Edwards is an advantage but not required
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, with data-management capability
• Flexibility to work night shifts
• Knowledge of Blackline and OneStream (Oracle-based reporting and consolidation tools) is a plus
