Job summary

Travel + Leisure Co. in the Philippines is seeking a Finance Controller Asia to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and taxation compliance across Asia with robust processes and controls.

The role reports to the VP Finance & Group Financial Controller Asia and interfaces with multiple regional teams and external auditors. The ideal candidate should possess an accounting degree (CPA preferred), experience in public accounting and multinational environments, and strong communication

Qualifications

• Accounting Degree or Equivalent.
• Certified Public Accountant or equivalent.
• Experience in both a public accounting and commercial environment would be advantageous.
• Experience in a multinational reporting entity or listed environment.
• Experience in Statutory Reporting and Income Tax Compliance.
• Exposure/experience to USGAAP accounting is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Report to US Parent entity under US GAAP for WDOS Treasury and WVC Asia Corporate in Singapore.
• Statutory Reporting in Singapore and China, including preparation of Financial Statements and management of external audits.
• Produce accurate financial ledgers meeting US Head Office reporting deadlines.
• Maintain tight Balance Sheet control and integrity.
• Ensure strong internal controls focus across the team.
• Assist with technical accounting reviews, position papers, and treatment of new revenue streams, property acquisitions and non-routine transactions.
• Meet taxation requirements for Singapore and China including corporate income tax, VAT and WHT, transfer pricing, and tax advisory support.
• Support US Corporate taxation deliverables.
• Liaise with IT to implement business system enhancements.
• Update and maintain policies when new procedures are implemented.
• Review processes to remove waste, reduce cost, and improve quality.
• Share best practices within and across business segments.
• Adhere to Workplace Health and Safety policies and display CARE to internal/external parties.
• Display innovation by improving processes and products and show integrity in all actions.
• Demonstrate leadership by effective communication and supporting peers and managers.

Primary Objectives

To actively contribute to the company vision of making holiday dreams come true by ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and taxation compliance through ensuring robust processes for financial accountability and reconciliation processes.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (Include but not limited to:)

• Reporting to the US Parent entity under USGAAP for WDOS Treasury and WVC Asia Corporate in Singapore
• Statutory Reporting in Singapore and China, including preparation of Financial Statements and management of external audits.
• Responsible for producing accurate financial ledgers while meeting strict US Head Office reporting deadlines.
• Ensuring tight Balance Sheet control and absolute accuracy and integrity.
• Ensuring a strong internal controls focus across the team.
• Assisting with technical accounting reviews, position papers and correct treatment of new revenue streams, property acquisitions and non-routine transactions.
• Meeting taxation requirements for Singapore and China, including corporate income tax, VAT and WHT compliance, transfer pricing, taxation business support and research.
• Support US Corporate taxation deliverables.
• Liaisie with IT teams to implement business system enhancements.
• With VP Finance update and maintain policies and procedures when new procedures and processes are implemented.
• Review of current and new processes, systems, and procedures to remove waste, reduce cost, improve quality and delight our customers.
• Share best practices within and across the business segments.
